Valentines is my favorite holiday of the year full of all things love themed! My favorite way to celebrate is with quilting, of course! Fat Quarter Shop comes out with a quarterly holiday box, which kicks off with the Cupid Box!

While waiting for it to arrive, Fat Quarter Shop released a free pattern called “Made with Love.” It’s a FREE pattern, and a lot of people made beautiful creations with their favorite fabrics. This was a quick project done in a day that I detailed in my Made with Love blog post.

This box features notions, fabrics and patterns. The notions were:

• Aurifil Red Floss
• Assorted Buttons
• Red Heart Scissors
• Collapsable heart container

My box seems to come later in it’s commute from Texas to Ohio, so I have some time to brainstorm from unboxings on YouTube. Knowing the fabric and pattern, I decided to use the 10-inch squares from the “I Love Us” collection in the Layer Cake Shake Pattern, another FREE pattern from Fat Quarter Shop. I show the process in my Layer Cake Shake Blog Post.

The pattern was for a mini quilt called “Better Together.” When I saw it, I knew I wanted to make the birds blue! I used the Country Charm collection from Island Batik. I love that it’s a more all seasons version of the pattern, which will get lots of time hanging in my hallway!

And lastly, there is a coupon that comes with the box. I make sure to set aside some shopping money in addition to these boxes since these coupons are a great value with the box. I picked out one item, an Aurifil Thread Set by Tula Pink! It features lots of neons as neutrals, along with three new colors! It was a great investment as a am doing more applique to match with these fun colors
