Island Batik Ambassador Challenge Scraps and Sparkles!

The March Challenge for the Island Batik Ambassadors was a free months to work on whatever project we chose! I went scrap busting with Doug Leko’s “Sparkle” pattern from his book, Stashtastic 2. Let me tell you… I cleared out a LOT with this 72×80 inch quilt!

You can watch this quilt get made on my YouTube Channel!

Doug’s patterns are well written with chain piecing instructions, large diagrams, and even shows alternative colors. This pattern was written for fat quarters, but I was easily able to adapt it to my scrap bin.

Here is the project list:

  • Fabric – Island Batik scraps, white solid Foundation, and Parchment Foundation for backing.

All that’s left in my Scrap tub is some browns and neutrals, but there’s still lots of colorful works ahead in this year!

Make sure to check out the fun projects the other Island Batik Ambassadors are creating this month! They come in all shapes and sizes form bed size quilts to luggage tags!
