Wow what a fun month this is as the Island Batik Ambassadors are making CRAZY QUILTS! These fun concoctions of fabric, thread, and whatever else you can find make this a wild challenge with no two project looking anything alike!

As an Island Batik Ambassador, I am sent materials for these monthly challenges. Thank you Oliso, Aurifil, Hobbs Batting, and Lumen Fabrics for sponsoring!

The Crazy quilt challenge came up in 2023 where I used the Breathtaking Browns gradient 10-inch stack to make a large table topper.

I adore a neutral palette. Well, what luck that I received Quiet Charm for this challenge!

To “crazy up my quilt, I chose some of my left over fabric from the Serenity Collection, which was my surprise bundle from the Irish Chain Challenge with Accuquilt.

Of course, I have lots of thread to choose from in the latest shipment from Aurifil. I recieved 40wt Mako thread, my favorite to user from piecing, to quilting, to binding!

You can use Aurifil from start to finish with their Forty-3 line! I used Baby Pink to coordinate with all the soft tones of pink through out the top.

Of all the queen size battings Hobbs sent me, I went with the Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Bleached Cotton Batting to keep this quilt light, but have a great crinkle after washing.

And here is the first quilt in my Crackle Quilt Series that I’ll be publishing this year! This pattern will use fat quarters, while the alternate patterns will be using 10-inch squares, 5-inch squares, and there will be a free version with no sashing! Follow along as I tease each quilt through the year!
