There is a fun trend going around on decorating iron covers and the Island Batik Ambassadors are joining in! We were sent mini-pro irons and travel cases in our first shipment, and the possibilities are endless!

As an Island Batik Ambassador, I am sent materials for monthly projects. Thanks to sponsors Oliso, Aurifil, and Lumin for this month’s challenge!

I started off with braiding binding strips. I have a basket next to my sewing machine, and I toss in the excess binding in there when I get to the end of attaching it.

Just like making a rope basket, I wrapped the braid back and forth around the cover. The rows of braids are sewn together with a zig zag stitch using blue gradient thread from Aurifil.

The cover slips off if I want to change the decoration on my Oliso Iron, but I’m really happy how this turned out!
